Boy, I don't want to have to go through all this again. I think I want to throw my phone out at this point and not talk on it for a few weeks! I've got the dns servers pointed correctly now and so the dns should be propagating and you should be able to access the site at www.thetradersden.org in 12-24 hours. :) |

| Temporary home |

Our host is allowing us to use their nameservers temporarily for one of our other domains that wasn't stolen. So, point your browsers to http://www.tradersden.org/forums/ and you will see the site up and running.
I'll repeat that the servers were never compromised. The hackers never got to our database. All they did was tranfer our domains thetradersden.org and thetradersden.com away from my godaddy account in order to try to blackmail me for money to get them returned. |

| Another day dealing with godaddy |

It's amazing... it took the guy just a couple of hours to steal the domains and it's taking me several hours to get them back! I've sent all the necessary paperwork into godaddy (all done yesterday morning) and yet all I've heard back from them is that they've received it all.
I have a couple of other domains for the site that this asshat didn't steal. The host offered to set one of them up for the site, but I said no since I thought this would get resolved quickly and because I knew there would be tracker problems if I used another domain. However, I am now considering this if I am getting no closer to getting this resolved today.
While you guys are sitting around wondering what to do (lol), may I suggest you change your passwords! Use this site to generate a nice one - http://www.pctools.com/guides/password/ - and then spend the day trying to memorize them. My mind is a jumbled mess right now trying to remember which strange password goes to which account. Oh, and don't use just one email for all your different accounts cuz then it is all right there for the hacker!
I miss you guys and miss TTD, but we will be back!
edit: I did get some good news yesterday. U2 tickets for Las Vegas went on sale (pre-sale) yesterday and I took time out from dealing with this mess and I managed to snag four fourth row seats for the family. :) |

| Our domains were stolen |

Someone hacked into my godaddy account last night and stole our ttd domains. They also tried to change the passwords on our server but our host was on the ball and realized it wasn't me and refused. So, the servers were not hacked. However, I am now dealing with godaddy to get our domains back.
Edit: Just to give you a laugh.... he's been contacting me and wants to sell the domains back to me for $2500! Hahahaha! No thank you! |

| Network is down |

It isn't just TTD that is down, but the whole network is down. Hopefully the host gets this resolved soon. |

| Web server is down |

Sorry guys but the web server is down. And, since that is where our dns points, I can't even put up a page. So, maybe someone remembers we do have this (very little used) live journal here for when the site is in trouble.
We were having some file issues on the server and on the advise of our host I tried to reboot it to hopefully fix the issue. But, surprise surprise, the web server decided it didn't feel like coming back up. So, a technician is out looking at it and will runs some tests on it and hopefully things will be fine and it will come back up... sometime. I don't have any estimate at this time as the technician was just sent to take a look about twenty minutes ago.
3:40 (California time): They are running diagnostics on it now. |

| Data Center must be down |

TTD is down (both servers are unresponsive), but when I went to submit a ticket to our host about it, I found that they are down also. So, either a pipe is broken or there is just something wrong at the data center. So, just stay connected to your torrents and all should be well.
Edit (1.5 hours later): They are aware of the Network Outage and are working on it.
Edit (4 hours later): Yes, they are still down and still working on it. All of their sites are down, not just TTD.
Edit (4.5 hours later): It was a router issue again. They replaced it and all the sites are back up. |

We finally go to move the site, just get done moving over the database, see a few errors, go to fix them and WHAM! The site is down. I try to put in a Support Ticket, but our hosts site is down. It then turns out they had upstream provider issues, then their router failed, they got a new router to install, and they are now in the process of configuring it.
Why, oh why, did this have to happen NOW? |

Just got notice that our host is having DNS problems. If you can't see TTD (like I can't), then this is the reason. They are supposed to be working on it.
edit: We are changed the DNS servers for TTD and hopefully that will bring the site back up.
edit: Oh, fun, fun. The DNS problems are related to a DOS attack. :\ |

I took the server down for a reboot and it doesn't seem to be coming back up right away. Nevermind about that, but....
We have huge server load problems at the moment. I also have internet access problems but I am talking to our host about other options for our site. |

It seems that WVFiber, who is upstream from Quickpacket (our host), is once again causing problems. I'll write a ticket to see what I can find out. |

edit 9:55 PM PST: Some of our host pages are starting to come back which leads me to think this was definitely something at the data center. However, I still can't ssh to the site.
edit 10:20 PM PST: I guess one of the upstream providers is having issues so they shut them off. Most things are getting back to normal. Just not me yet. :/ |
